GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Bay Port is looking for a new softball coach as Jenna Woepse has stepped down.

Woepse coached four seasons at Bay Port, leading the Pirates to their first state tournament berth in 2015 and two Fox River Classic Conference titles, including this past season with a 16-2 mark.

The reason for Woepse stepping down is she's taking a new job. She is joining former Major League pitcher and West De Pere alum Jason Berken at Impact Sports Academy in De Pere.

This past season Bay Port finished 19-5 and lost to rival Pulaski in a sectional semifinal.

Whoever replaces Woepse should be able to continue Bay Port's success it had under Woepse. Sydney LaPoint, one of the best pitchers in the area, returns as does first baseman Maddy Ehlke
