WEYAUWEGA, Wis. (WLUK) – In the wake of the decision to retire its “Indians” mascot, the Weyauwega-Fremont School District is now accepting suggestion for the replacement.

Suggestions must be submitted by midnight, Nov. 30.

“A sub-committee will be formed to determine the process of generating a new mascot,” the district’s website states.

Besides asking for the name, the online form also asks: “What is your reasoning behind your mascot suggestion? How does it relate to the school community?”

No timeline for picking the new name is mentioned.
