OSHKOSH (WLUK) -- Oshkosh West has named Duane Hartkopf as its interim head football coach for the 2020.

Hartkopf, who was an assistant coach the past five seasons at West, replaces Ken Levine, who stepped down in March after 17 seasons.

The decision to transition to an interim head coach for the upcoming season was made after review of the current and unprecedented situation facing schools and society due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This isn't Hartkopf's first head-coaching job at West as he has served as the school's wrestling coach since the 2014-2015 season, and he will continue in the role as well. Under his leadership, the wrestling program has seen an increase in participation and has grown into a conference and state contender -- with numerous state qualifiers and state place winners.
