MILWAUKEE (WLUK) -- A story-book ending and a 2nd state girls soccer title was not in the cards for Notre Dame head coach Bob Rickards. The Tritons lost to Edgewood, 3-1 in a Division 3 State Semifinal.

"I think once I walk off the field it will probably hit me, but very emotional. We've been here 14 times and to know that this is my last one is a little sad. To go through the season we went through, I mean we played some really good ball in stretches and I think we just didn't have it today. Credit to them, they won a lot of the 1 v 1 battles, but I'm extremely proud of these girls," said Rickards.

Rickards will take over St. Norbert College's women's soccer program next fall.

Senior Jenna Cuene scored the lone goal for Notre Dame.
