OSHKOSH (WLUK) -- Brandon Kolgen had high expectations for his senior season but a knee injury during the second game of the season cost the defensive lineman the bulk of his season.
After the injury, however, the Minnesota-Duluth recruit didn't hang his head, he worked, with the goal of playing one more time.
He will Saturday for the North team in the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Large School All-Star game at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh.
"It was definitely tough watching my friends go out there and play," Kolgen said. "I was with them all last year and it was tough watching them from the sidelines. After missing my senior year I didn't want to go out like that.
"I worked hard to get back to play in this game because I really wanted to play this game."
Kolgen was the Valley Football Association's North Division defensive lineman of the year, so he was sorely missed last season. But before he turns his attention to his college career, he will walk onto the field one more time with the "AN" on the side of his helmet.
"I'm just going to play my heart out after missing the season," he said. "It really took a toll on me after not playing, so I'm going to give it all I got this game. Rehab has been hard, it's been a grind, a lot of sweating. It's been tough."
