GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Notre Dame Academy has named Matthew Koenig its new athletic director.
Koenig joins Notre Dame Academy with 14 years of experience leading athletic programs, most recently serving as athletic director at St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Senior High School in St. Bernard, Ohio, where he oversaw a staff of over 40 coaches and was nominated for the 2019 Cincinnati.com Sports Award/USA Today Network “Athletic Director of the Year.”
“Matt brings a wealth of experience to Notre Dame and is well prepared to lead the Triton Athletic program,” Notre Dame principal Patrick Browne said. “What most impressed me is how he responded to both coaches and students during the interview process.”
Notre Dame Head Football Coach Mike Rader, who was part of the interview process concurred and said, “I think he has solid experience in the role and will bring a fresh face to our school.”
Koenig replaces Steph Mathu, who was relieved of her duties during the school year.
