Kimberly boys, Appleton North girls win FVA track and field titles

OSHKOSH (WLUK) -- The Kimberly boys and Appleton North girls track and field teams proved to be the best Monday as each won team titles at the Fox Valley Association meet at Titan Stadium.

Kimberly won the boys title with 203.5 points, easily outdistancing second-place Fond du Lac (121.5 points) and third-place Appleton North (117).

Winning titles for the Papermakers boys were D.J. Stewart in the 100-meter (15.07 seconds) and 300 hurdles (39.42; conference record), Jack Fitzgerald in the 800 (1:56.51, Boyd Dietzen in the shot put (173 feet, 5 inches), the 400 relay (Alec Martzahl, Alex Warzyn, Kevin Lind and Alex Hammen; 43.81), the 800 relay (Michael Norum, Warzyn, Lind and Hammen; 1:39.95) and the 3,200 relay (Trent Hyland, Will Demerath, Jesse Lambrecht and Alex Jansen; 8:13.86).

Meanwhile, winning titles for Appleton North on the girls' side were Sydney Squier in the 400 (58.28) and long jump (17-5), Mary Rose Flood in the 800 (2:19.20) and 1,600 (5:09.77) and the 1,600 relay (Jordyn Prince, Iris Hertting, Kari Brekke and Squier; 4:04.33).
