FREEDOM (WLUK) -- The Freedom Cross Country team started practicing for the fall season just over a week ago!

Low-risk sports were able to begin practice on August 17th, which includes cross country.

FOX 11's Maggie LaMere visits Freedom High School for a look at how the team is preparing to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each day, the athletes are asked to fill out a "COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire" to ensure they are symptom-free.

LaMere spends the morning with team members and the head coach, Thain Jones, talking about how they are staying mentally strong during a season that feels anything but normal.
