FOX 11 Top 11: Kimberly boys open at No. 1

GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- The boys basketball season has tipped off so it's time to unveil the first FOX 11 Top 11 boys basketball rankings of the season.

Holding down the No. 1 spot is Kimberly, which has a terrific trio consisting of Levi Nienhaus-Borchert, Jake Buchanan and Reed Miller.

Following the Papermakers are Kaukauna, Green Bay Southwest, Roncalli and Oshkosh West.

Here are the first rankings of the season:

FOX 11 Top 11 boys basketball rankings

1. Kimberly (2-0): Levi Nienhaus-Borchert and Jake Buchanan averaging at least 23 points per game apiece.

2. Kaukauna (2-0): Five players averaging at least 13 points per game.

3. Green Bay Southwest (2-0): Trojans are team to beat in the FRCC.

4. Roncalli (2-0): Jets and Chombi Lambert will be tough to beat this season.

5. Oshkosh West (3-0): Karter Thomas off to a torrid start, averaging 40 points per game.

6. Appleton West (2-1): Terrors have scored at least 86 points in each game.

7. Wrightstown (2-0): Mayson Hazaert averaging 25.5 points per game.

8. Marinette (3-1): Matt Wagner and Jake Poetzl each averaging more than 21 points per game.

9. Luxemburg-Casco (3-0): Four players averaging at least 13 points per game.

10. Bay Port (1-1): New-look Pirates hoping to contend in the FRCC.

11. Neenah (3-1): Rockets hoping to make an impact in the FVA.
