FOX 11 Top 11: Bay Port girls the new No. 1

GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- With the Christmas break over it's time for new FOX 11 Top 11 girls basketball rankings and so much happened that there is a new No. 1 and two new teams entered the rankings.

At the top, Bay Port replaces Kimberly as the Pirates remain undefeated, while the Papermakers have dropped two of their last three games.

In the No. 2 spot is De Pere, and its only loss this season came at Bay Port. At No. 3 is Freedom, followed by Valders and Kimberly.

The new teams in the rankings are Mishicot (10-1) and Wausaukee, which is 9-0.

Here are this week's rankings:

FOX 11 Top 11

1.Bay Port (10-0): Pirates are the only undefeated Division 1 team in the state. Previous ranking: No. 2

2.De Pere (10-1): Redbirds' trio of Kerkhoff, Cerrato and Meulemans is dangerous. Previous ranking: No. 6.

3.Freedom (9-1): Irish the only perfect team in North Eastern games. Previous ranking: No. 5.

4.Valders (8-1): Vikings record impressive win against Wrightstown. Previous ranking: No. 7.

5.Kimberly (7-2): Maddy Schreiber leading the way at 18.3 ppg. Previous ranking: No. 1.

6.Green Bay Preble (9-1): Don't forget about the Hornets in the FRCC race. Previous ranking: No. 8.

7.Kewaunee (9-0): Storm the team to beat in the Packerland. Previous ranking: No. 10.

8.Laconia (13-0): Spartans'13 wins the most in the state. Previous ranking: No. 9.

9.Mishicot (10-1): Indians have won six straight games. Previous ranking: unranked.

10.Appleton East (7-2): Patriots made a statement with a win against Kimberly. Previous ranking: No. 11.

11. Hortonville (7-2): Macy McGlone averaging 16.3 ppg. and 10.1 rpg. Previous ranking: unranked.

--Dropped out: No. 3 Wrightstown (7-2); No. 4 Appleton North (5-3).
