Hockey great Gordie Howe has died at his son's Ohio home according to sources close to the family.
Sportsnet reports he was surrounded by family Friday morning.
He was 88-years-old.
Howe played 26 seasons in the NHL, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1972.
He was the namesake of the "Gordie Howe hat trick," when a player has a goal, an assist, and a fight in one game. Fans throw their hats onto the ice in celebration of the feat.
