(De Pere, Wis.) -- Evergreen Productions will open it's 2017-2018 season with a nod to the iconic director and producer, Alfred Hitchcock in Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play.

The play brings three of Hitchcock's works to life while celebrating the golden age of radio.

Representing a classic radio program, the stage is set to be inside a radio studio with the cast not just portraying the Hitchcock characters, but actors being hired onto the broadcast.

"Even their character is a role that they're playing," said the show's director, Darby Kern. "So everybody is the performer that they are portraying and that performer has to portray a whole gamut of characters,."

But that won't be the only action happening on stage - audiences will be able to see most of the sound effects as they happen live on stage.

"You'll be able to see what is called 'foley' artists, and they are real world sound effect generators," said cast member Tom Harter, "You get to watch these two fantastic people use really interesting things to get the sounds of the stories forward."

The show opens on Sept. 22 and runs for two weekends.
