WEST ALLIS (WLUK) -- The BoDeans are stepping in for Huey Lewis and the News at the Wisconsin State Fair.

Huey Lewis and the News had been scheduled to play the State Fair Aug. 4. However, the band canceled all its 2018 tour dates earlier this month as frontman Lewis announced the sudden loss of his hearing.

The BoDeans are a Milwaukee-area favorite, having been formed originally in Waukesha. Their hits include "Closer to Free," "Fadeaway" and "Only Love."

Reggae band The Original Wailers, featuring Al Anderson, one of Bob Marley’s original guitarists, is scheduled to open.

Tickets for the show are $35 and $25. They go on sale at 9 a.m. May 11 at the State Fair ticket office, by phone at 1-800-514-3849 and online.
