Green Bay (WCWF) -- Tall Ships kicked off this weekend in downtown Green Bay. The nine majestic vessels were docked near Leicht Memorial Park on the Fox River.
The photos captured include the Santa Maria, Picton Castle and the Pride of Baltimore II. A rainy start to the event couldn't keep onlookers away. The ships were draped in ropes, with sails tied. A residence to the crew, but a jungle to the children. Small steps and ladders were labeled, climb backwards. Meanwhile, the barefoot crew enduring the rain gave the sense of simplicity and hard work.
The 3-day event features on-board ship tours, sailing excursions, music, entertainment and a maritime marketplace.
The event will run from Friday July 26th to Sunday the 28th, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For a full description of the event, head to the Tall Ships Wisconsin website.
