(WLUK) -- Three groups of Paul McCartney fans had the chance to purchase presale tickets Wednesday.
"PaulMcCartney.com Presale, "VIP Package Presale" and "American ExpressCard Member Presale" were available for purchase at 10 a.m.
FOX 11 wanted to see ticket prices so we went to Ticketmaster's website a few minutes before 10 a.m. A screen popped up saying, "You are now in the Waiting Room" and with more than 2,000 people in front of us.
Once inside, the lowest tickets were listed at $59 each. The highest showed tickets at $279 each. The site had an "eight ticket limit for the public onsale."
FOX 11 asked Ticketmaster how much American Express presale tickets cost. The company told us the lowest ticket price was $37.95 and the highest was $279.95 (not including Platinum).
The website took some time to view seating and navigate.
"We've got some tickets from some other people that have already bought them... off the American Express presale and we loaded them into our system," said Travis Loftus, Ticket King manager.
Ticket King, in Ashwaubenon, said it had a handful of McCartney tickets.
"We've actually started selling some because we're on an exchange with other brokers in the secondary market so they're listed on our website as well. We've sold, maybe a couple dozen as well for that but those are ones we don't own so we're kind of at the mercy of the market," Loftus said.
Wednesday afternoon, FOX 11 looked at ticket prices again. When we clicked buy tickets, a screen popped up that said "sit tight, we're securing your seat." Then, the seat keeps changing. After a few more clicks, we finally made it to the purchase screen.
If you look on Ticketmaster's website it shows seven presale options with various dates. FOX 11 asked Ticketmaster why there were several presale options. The company said, "The artist elected to offer access to multiple groups (Amex Cardmembers, PM.com Fan Club Members (via Verified Fan.), etc."
Tickets for the general public go on sale Monday, Dec. 10.
We asked Ticketmaster how many tickets will be on sale for the general public. The company did not respond to our request.
On Tuesday, the Packers made an official announcement and said Paul McCartney will play at Lambeau Field Saturday, June 8, 2019.
