GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- A Green Bay stage will be showcasing local talent in an American Idol-type competition.

The Meyer Theatre will host Talent Jam, Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m.

Earlier this month, students from grade 9 through grad school auditioned to perform, where judges chose the top acts to move on to the Nov. 23rd show.

Top acts are from the following schools: Bay Port, UW-Green Bay, ABI, Mapleview, N.E.W. Lutheran, NWTC, Notre Dame Academy, Rasmussen College and St. Norbert College.

“The whole process of Talent Jam becomes a great experience for these kids. They have to create an act, commit to rehearsals, go through the audition process and perform before a live audience at a professional venue. It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase some amazing talent,” said Meyer Theatre board member Lois Golde.

When all performances are complete, the audience will vote for the top two acts by texting in their vote.

The first place winner will receive $2,500, the second place winner will get $1,000 and the judge's choice winner will receive $500.

Tickets are $10 each and are available online, by phone at 800-895-0071 or at the Ticket Star Box Office in the Resch Center.
