12 years later, catch Eli Manning's favorite 'Seinfeld' episode on FOX 11 Saturday night

(WLUK) -- Get out! After 12 long years, FOX 11 is finally putting to bed its tongue-in-cheek feud with Eli Manning.

To make up for depriving Manning of "Seinfeld" on the eve of the NFC Championship Game in 2008, FOX 11 will do the opposite this Saturday night and air Manning's favorite episode in honor of the New York Giants quarterback's recent retirement.

So what is Manning's favorite episode? "The Opposite," a Giants spokesperson said in response to a question from FOX 11.

While that spokesperson couldn't get us a job interview with the New York Yankees, George Costanza is a little luckier in the episode. Costanza decides to try to change his luck by doing the opposite of what his instincts tell him. During his job interview, he berates then-Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, who surprises everyone by ordering that Costanza be hired immediately.

Things don't go as well for Elaine, who loses her apartment and her boyfriend, and unwittingly starts a chain of events that leads to the demise of her employer, Pendant Publishing. Kramer makes a memorable appearance on "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee."

And Jerry ends up...pretty much where he started, leaving Kramer to nickname him "Even Steven."

That's a shame.

Even if your instinct tells you not to watch, we'd suggest doing the opposite and catching Eli Manning's favorite episode, "The Opposite," on Saturday night. It airs at 9:30, following the NFL Honors show and FOX 11 News at Nine.

No word on whether Manning will be watching a bootleg tape of FOX 11's broadcast from his retirement home in Del Boca Vista.

Don't forget to watch "Seinfeld" weeknights at 10:00 on CW 14 and 10:35 on FOX 11.
