(WCWF) -- This week on CW 14 Focus host Robert Hornacek will be joined by the executive director of St. John the Evangelist Homeless Shelter.

She will talk about St. John's approach to the problem, including a new summer program called C.O.T.S. The acronym, which was also the original name of the shelter, stands for "Churches Offering Temporary Shelter." This summer, several churches throughout the area are housing homeless individuals for short periods of time.

Wood says on average, 15 to 20 people are taking advantage of the program.

"We anticipate there will be some ebbs and flows with that with weather, with where the church is located in any given week," Wood said. "But to know that without C.O.T.S, without the summer option, there would be 15 to 20 individuals sleeping on the streets of Green Bay that now have a safe place to sleep. We know we're doing good."

CW 14 Focus is a weekly, half-hour interview program that focuses on the issues important to people in northeast Wisconsin. Each week, Robert Hornacek will sit down with a different guest and go beyond the sound bites. The program will highlight the people making a difference in the community and give viewers an opportunity to get in depth perspective. CW 14 Focus airs Sundays at 10 a.m.
