Recovering compulsive gambler offers hope and resources for others

(WCWF) -- This week on CW 14 Focus host Robert Hornacek will be joined by two guests to talk about the issue of problem gambling.

Rose Blozinski, executive director of the Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling, and LeAnne Holden, a recovering compulsive gambler, will appear on the program.

Holden says her compulsive gambling ended when she was caught embezzling money from her former employer. She ended up spending eight years in prison.

Holden now volunteers her time helping others with gambling problems.

"As bad as prison was, that's what I needed to get my attention that I did have a problem. I pray it doesn't take anybody else that to realize they have a problem but I know there will be others," Holden said.

CW 14 Focus is a weekly, half-hour interview program that focuses on the issues important to people in northeast Wisconsin. Each week, Robert Hornacek will sit down with a different guest and go beyond the sound bites. The program will highlight the people making a difference in the community and give viewers an opportunity to get in depth perspective. CW 14 Focus airs Sundays at 10 a.m.
