(WCWF) -- This week on CW 14 Focus host Robert Hornacek will be joined by two guests to talk about the massive burden of student loan debt in the United States.
The federal government estimates student loan debt to be around $1.2 trillion. According to industry estimates, people who graduated from college 2014 have an average of $33,000 in student loan debt.
On the show, Sandy Duckett and Dan Linssen will talk about the challenges surrounding student loan debt. Duckett is the C.E.O. of We Are Hope, Inc., a Door County-based group that is working to raise awareness of student loan debt. Linssen is facilitator for the organization's "Be Smart About Education" roundtable discussions.
The next roundtable is being held on Monday, September 26, 2016.
"We are doing some roundtable discussions because we truly believe that in order to solve this problem, we have to have the stakeholders," Duckett said. "And that includes legislators and educators and people who have been involved, as well as students."
