(WCWF) -- This week on CW 14 Focus host Robert Hornacek will be joined by the two candidates in Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District.

On the show, Robert will sit down with Democrat Tom Nelson and Republican Mike Gallagher.

Republican Reid Ribble is leaving Congress after his third term expires in January.

Nelson is a former state legislator and current Outagamie County Executive. Gallagher is a former U.S. Marine.

On the show, the candidates will talk about what they see as the major issues in the race. They will also talk about why they decided to enter the race.

"I believe we have too many career politicians and unelected bureaucrats that are bankrupting this country, that are weakening us at home and abroad and I just couldn’t sit on the sidelines and watch that happen," Gallagher said.

"This race is not about me. It’s not about my opponent. It’s about the people of Northeast Wisconsin," Nelson said. "And we need someone in Congress that’s going to do everything they can to try and bring back good paying jobs to Northeast Wisconsin."

CW 14 Focus is a weekly, half-hour interview program that focuses on the issues important to people in northeast Wisconsin. Each week, Robert Hornacek will sit down with a different guest and go beyond the sound bites. The program will highlight the people making a difference in the community and give viewers an opportunity to get in depth perspective. CW 14 Focus airs Sundays at 10 a.m.
