(WCWF) -- This week on CW 14 Focus host Robert Hornacek will take viewers Beyond the Podium as he is joined by the major party candidates running for the U.S. Senate.

Incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D) and challenger Leah Vukmir (R) will both appear on the show.

Baldwin was first elected to the Senate in 2012. Prior to that, she represented the Madison area in the U.S. House of Representatives, first being elected in 1998.

Vukmir currently represents the Brookfield area in the Wisconsin State Senate. She was elected to the state Senate in 2010 and is currently assistant majority leader. From 2002-2010, Vukmir served in the Wisconsin Assembly.

On the show, the candidates will talk about why they are running for the Senate. They will also assess the race and talk about their backgrounds and experience. Baldwin and Vukmir will both explain why they believe voters should choose them on Election Day.

"We have too many challenges we're facing and opportunities that we need to grasp," Baldwin said. "And I want to do the bidding of the hard working Wisconsin citizens."

"I would much rather see the power, the locus of control, go away from Washington and back to the states where we know how to solve problems because we know our people better," Vukmir said.

The general election is Tuesday, November 6.
