(WCWF) -- This week on CW 14 Focus host Robert Hornacek will take viewers Beyond the Podium as he is joined by the candidates running for the 8th district congressional seat.
Before being elected to Congress in 2016, Gallagher spent seven years in the United States Marine Corps. He also worked in the intelligence community and served as a policty analyst for the Senate Foreigh Relations Committee.
Liegeois is an assistant district attorney in Brown County. He served eight years in the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
On the show, the candidates will talk about their backgrounds and experience. They will also talk about some of the issues facing voters and the approach they would take to the job.
"I certainly try and wake up everyday and view things through the lens of Northeast Wisconsin because D.C. is a bubble. D.C. is a swamp. There are a lot of journalists that are only talking to each other and you can't get caught up in that madness. You have to listen to people," Gallagher said.
"I've lived here my whole life," Liegeois said. "I know that health care, better paying jobs and water quality are significant issues in this district and always have been. So, that's what I'm focusing on in this race."
The general election is Tuesday, November 6.
CW 14 Focus is a weekly, half-hour interview program that focuses on the issues important to people in northeast Wisconsin.
