(WCWF) -- This week on CW 14 Focus host Robert Hornacek will take viewers Beyond the Podium as he is joined by the candidates running for the 6th district congressional seat.
Before being elected to Congress in 2014, Grothman spent more than 20 years in the Wisconsin Legislature. He currently serves on the House Budget, Education and the Workforce, and Oversight and Government Reform committees.
Kohl is the nephew of former Wisconsin Senator and former Milwaukee Bucks owner Herb Kohl. Prior to running for Congress, Kohl worked for J Street, a pro-Israel advocacy organization. He also worked as the assistant general manager of the Milwaukee Bucks.
On the show, the candidates will both talk about their backgrounds and experience. They will also talk about some of the issues facing voters and the approach they would take to the job.
"I think too much in Washington, even more than Madison, they look out for the very wealthy or they look out for the poor and they don't look out for the average guy. When I vote, I look out for the average guy," Grothman said.
"We need to be focused, like a laser beam, on the big problems people face. So, I am a pragmatic, common sense kind of person that will be doing that in Washington," Kohl said.
The general election is Tuesday, November 6.
