(WCWF) -- This week on CW 14 Focus host Robert Hornacek will be joined by Appleton Police Chief Todd Thomas.

Thomas spent nearly three decades with the Green Bay Police Department before joining the Appleton Police Department in 2015.

On the show, Thomas will talk about some of the challenges facing law enforcement.

He will also share his thoughts on the approach his department takes to policing and discuss school safety.

"School safety has to be a collaboration between the school district, police department, social workers, mental health providers. That has to be a discussion at a table on what's the best approach. I still see early intervention, mental health services as the key," Thomas said.

CW 14 Focus is a weekly, half-hour interview program that focuses on the issues important to people in northeast Wisconsin. Each week, Robert Hornacek will sit down with a different guest and go beyond the sound bites. The program will highlight the people making a difference in the community and give viewers an opportunity to get in depth perspective. CW 14 Focus airs Sundays at 10 a.m.
