Captain Cold goes all the way back to 1957.

To nerd out for a moment — the character of The Flash as we think of him now is actually second version. The original Flash (aka the Golden Age Flash) was Jay Garrick.

The Silver Age Flash (first appearance Showcase #4 [Oct. 1956]) was a complete re-imagining of the character. This Flash is Barry Allen, and introduces the red suit, and lighting bolt logo.

The Silver Age Flash’s creators were writers Robert Kanigher and John Broome, with the look created by penciler Carmine Infantino — with the overall guidance of DC editor Julius Schwartz.

Captain Cold is one of the Silver Age Flash’s earliest and most popular foes(click here and scroll down for a look at his first appearance) and was also created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino.

To return to the present, Wentworth Miller’s first appearance was on Buffy The Vampire Slayer (swim team episode from season 1.) He subsequently appeared on a variety of shows, most notably Prison Break.
