A former child prodigy and Miss Wisconsin is coming home to Green Bay to help children in need.
This Sunday on CW 14 Focus host Robert Hornacek was joined by Dr. Tina Sauerhammer.
Sauerhammer was born and raised in Green Bay. She went to college at UW-Green Bay when she was just 14. By the time she was 22, she graduated from the UW-Madison Medical School.
In 2003, Sauerhammer was crowned Miss Wisconsin. She went on to finish third in the Miss America competition.
After spending time in Boston and Washington D.C., Sauerhammer is returning to Green Bay to work as a pediatric plastic surgeon with Prevea.
“There’s a huge need for pediatric plastic surgery in this area,” Sauerhammer said. “For me, it’s really important to come here and be able to share everything that I’ve learned over the last several years and to be able to give back to my community.”
